Do I need to book ahead?
Last minute bookings up to 48 hours are accepted.
Are children welcome?
Yes. Cot & highchair can be provided on request.
Are pets welcome?
Sorry, no.
Is my booking insured?
No. As with all holiday bookings we advise you take out travel insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances.
Is there a charge for wood?
Yes. There is a £30 charge per large basket of wood, including kindling & fire lighters. All wood must be paid for at point of use.
Can I pay cash?
Yes. You can pay cash on arrival.
What kind of payments are acceptable?
Cash or bank transfer.
What happens if I cancel?
We advise you to take out travel insurance. A small business like ours is clearly affected by cancellations. We ask for your understanding and consideration of our policy. Cancellations more than 6 weeks prior to holiday commencement - no additional charge. However deposit will not be returned.
Cancellations less than 6 weeks - guest will be responsible for full charge.
How much deposit do I pay?
25% of full booking cost is required to secure accomodation.\
What time can I check in/out?
Check in is from 4pm. Check out is 10am. Late check out may be possible at an additional charge.
Is the accommodation open at Christmas & New Year?
Yes we are open.
Local Area
Carrick Castle (village) is a secluded hamlet 4 miles south of Lochgoilhead. It is known for its historical castle, medieval settlement in Coromonachan Woodlands and outstanding natural beauty. It is a haven for wild life such as seals, porpoise, mackerel, trout, eagles, comarants, herons, swallows etc. There are an abundance of walks accessed on foot from the chalets. Cycling, kayaking and boating can all be enjoyed during your stay. Launch your boat by the castle or your kayak /SUP from our private beach. You can arrive by boat and moor up outside the chalet!
Nearest Shop
There is a well stocked shop in Lochgoilhead. There is a post office too with limited groceries.
Restaurants
The Goil Inn, The Shore House and Drimsynie Hotel in Lochgoilhead all serve food & drinks. Booking is advisable. The Boatshed, nearby is open 10am - 4pm serving breakfast & lunch.It gets very busy at weekends. There are an abundance of restaurants in nearby Helensburgh, Dunoon and Inveraray.
Doctor
There is a GP in Lochgoilhead. The nearest A&E is at Royal Alexandria Hospital, Paisley. You can access NHS24 by dialing 111.
Train Station
The nearest station is in Arrochar with another 2 in Helensburgh.
